Support the educational journey of Indigenous students as an Indigenous Education Support Worker with School District No. 73. This role requires cultural insight and education assistance for diverse learners.
School District No. 73 is actively seeking candidates for its Indigenous Education Worker Relief roster. Applicants must possess Indigenous ancestry and demonstrate a thorough understanding of cultural and contemporary Indigenous issues. Experience working with children is a critical aspect of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support for Indigenous students
• Assist in understanding cultural significance in education
• Travel to diverse communities for outreach
• Collaborate with educators to improve student outcomes
• Participate in promoting Indigenous traditions and topics
Requirements:
• Grade 12 diploma with additional post-secondary education
• At least two years of relevant experience
• Valid B.C. Driver's License required
• Proficiency in an Indigenous language is beneficial
• Comfort engaging with the Indigenous community
