DUTIES
The Faculty of Law at Thompson Rivers University (TRU Law) invites applications from candidates with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and collegial governance. This tenure‑track or tenured appointment will begin on July1,2027, with rank dependent on qualifications and experience.
Applicants with scholarly and teaching interests aligned with courses in the curriculum are preferred. Candidates should identify areas of teaching interest within the core JD curriculum. The appointment may be a tenure‑track Assistant Professor or a tenured Associate or Full Professor, depending on the qualifications and experience of the applicant.
Compensation and BenefitsAssistant Professor: TS‑1 to TS‑12 ($73,666–$114,124). Preferred candidates will meet criteria for TS‑10 ($106,067) or above.
Associate Professor: TS‑13 to TS‑28 ($117,787–$163,085).
Professor: TS‑21 to TS‑35 ($144,156–$187,353).
All ranks receive a $20,000 annual market supplement in addition to base salary, per LOU#15 of the TRU/TRUFA Collective Agreement.

QualificationsApplicants must have a JD (or equivalent) and a completed or in‑progress PhD. Applicants without a completed or in‑progress PhD may be considered if they hold a JD (or equivalent), an LLM (or equivalent), and have extensive research or practice experience.
Applicants should have the ability and willingness to contribute to the intellectual and scholarly life of the Faculty and the University more broadly. Candidates for tenure must have an outstanding record of scholarship and a significant record of strong performance in teaching.
