Position: Full-Time Chemistry & Physics Teacher
Location: Merritt

SOUTH CENTRAL INTERIOR DISTANCE EDUCATION SCHOOL invites applications for a full-time Chemistry 11 & 12 and Physics 11 & 12 teaching role starting September 8, 2025. Tailor educational experiences and support diverse student needs through innovative teaching practices.

This temporary position offers a 1.0 FTE commitment through June 30, 2027. The ideal candidate will possess a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be familiar with the BC Curriculum. You will need to engage with Brightspace and adapt learning materials according to student requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging lessons in Chemistry and Physics for grades 11 and 12

• Adapt resources to cater to diverse student learning needs

• Collaborate with staff to support social-emotional development

• Travel as needed within the region for teaching engagements

• Foster positive relationships with students and families

Requirements:

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate; category five or higher

• Experience with grade-level teaching and assessment adaptation

• Knowledge of K-12 Distributed Learning standards

• Commitment to inclusive education practices

• Experience in supporting social-emotional learning
