K to Itinerant Counselor

Position: Full-Time K to 12 Itinerant Counselor
Location: Merritt

Join School District 58 as a full-time Itinerant K to 12 Counselor starting September 1, 2026. Support students' social-emotional learning in a diverse educational environment.

This position requires a master’s degree in counseling and familiarity with BC Secondary curricula. As a full-time counselor, you will facilitate individual and group counseling, addressing graduation requirements and inclusive education. You'll collaborate with school staff and support the needs of both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling services

• Support the social-emotional learning of students

• Collaborate with School-Based Teams for integrated services

• Manage interpersonal and conflict resolution with students

• Facilitate inclusionary practices and support varied learning needs

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in counseling

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate

• Knowledge of BC Secondary curricula

• Experience working with diverse student populations

• Training or experience supporting Indigenous students

Support the development of inclusive educational practices as an integral part of the team at School District 58.
