Be part of the Lower Nicola Band's educational team as a Full-Time School Education Assistant in Merritt, British Columbia. Support diverse learning needs and foster academic success for students in a culturally rich environment.

This position involves providing direct assistance to students with various learning requirements under the guidance of the Learning Assistance Teacher. The role focuses on individual support, engaging with small groups, and helping implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs). You'll maintain a safe and inclusive atmosphere while contributing to essential cultural and educational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support to identified students

• Assist with academic tasks to enhance student engagement

• Supervise and manage small learning groups

• Prepare materials for individualized education programs

• Help implement IEPs and assess student progress

Requirements:

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent

• Education Assistant Certificate or related training preferred

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain

• Knowledge of Nlaka’pamux culture is an asset
