Philosophy of Education Instructor

Shape the future minds in education by teaching Philosophy of Education at a post-secondary level. This sessional faculty role requires a commitment to inspiring students in a meaningful learning environment.

You will be teaching EDTE 3190, focusing on philosophical frameworks that influence education in Canada and British Columbia. A Bachelor’s and Master’s in Education are mandatory, alongside significant K-12 teaching experience and subject knowledge. Engage students through thoughtful discussions and reflective practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach EDTE 3190 on Thursdays and Fridays

• Facilitate critical discussions on educational philosophies

• Support student reflections on personal educational philosophy

• Develop and deliver course materials effectively

• Foster an inclusive learning atmosphere for all students

Requirements:

• Bachelor and Master of Education degrees required

• Minimum three years of full-time K-12 teaching experience

• Advanced knowledge in education subject area

• Experience integrating Aboriginal knowledge into curricula

• Strong communication and organizational skills
