Job Overview
NVIT seeks term instructors to teach Indigenous Early Childhood Education (IECE) courses across multiple campuses and online.

Responsibilities
Teach assigned courses in the IECE program. Course schedules and locations are mutually agreed upon with the Community Education department. The instructor may be required to provide instruction during onsite and online sessions.

Requirements & Qualifications

Master’s Degree in a related field. ECE Certificate and Diploma mandatory in Undergraduate Degree. Preference for BC Certificate and Diploma;

Experience working with children 3 to 12 years of age;

Experience working in group daycare, head start, or ECE development center or organization (centers that follow BC licensing regulations);

Experience in classroom teaching and learning practices with Indigenous adult learners at a college or university level;

Strong team player with excellent human relations skills – faculty members are expected to contribute positively to the life of the school and community;

Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing;

NVIT gives high priority to Aboriginal candidates. All applicants should be experienced in working with Aboriginal people.
