Join ASCEND Online as a part-time Indigenous Support Worker until June 2026, helping K-12 students thrive. Connect families and educators while advocating for educational equity and cultural awareness.
In this role with ASCEND Online, you will serve Indigenous learners by fostering family connections and partnering with local organizations to deliver essential support. You will also advocate for students' needs during IEP meetings and assist parents with Jordan's Principle applications. This position emphasizes collaboration and cultural integration within the educational framework.
Key Responsibilities:
• Connect with families to gather support needs
• Reach out to Indigenous bands for collaboration
• Engage students with local elders
• Plan and execute cultural events online
• Inform teachers of relevant professional development
Requirements:
• Two years of college/university education
• Minimum one year of related experience
• Excellent communication abilities
• Active participation in a Catholic parish
• Indigenous descent required
