Academic Tutor in Writing Support

Location: Merritt

Join Nicola Valley Institute of Technology as an Academic Tutor focusing on Writing. This position facilitates student learning and engagement through inclusive practices at the Merritt campus.

As part of the Enrolment Services Division, your role will involve personalized tutoring while promoting workshops and cultural activities for students. You will support varied learning needs and ensure that student experience reflects principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. This dynamic role allows for collaboration with faculty, staff, and the community to enhance student success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver academic support and personalized tutoring for students

• Collaborate with staff to foster student engagement

• Facilitate learning workshops and cultural events

• Support understanding of diverse subject materials

• Ensure a clean and organized Success Centre

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in English preferred

• Experience in Universal Design principles

• Understanding of Indigenous cultures

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work flexible hours
