Location: Merritt
Enhance educational collaboration as the Instructor Coordinator for BNLEK at UBC in Merritt, BC. This part-time role focuses on community outreach, language instruction, and student engagement in the Nłeʔkepmx initiative.
You will coordinate interactions between students and community members, facilitating internships, capstone projects, and collaboration with key organizations like NVIT. You'll play a vital role in supporting students' educational journeys and ensuring they thrive within the program.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage university-community partnership initiatives
• Assist in internship and capstone project development
• Facilitate mentor participation in language programs
• Maintain and report on project databases
• Support student admissions and scholarships
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree and 3-4 years related experience
• Experience with Indigenous community engagement
• Preference for knowledge of Nłeʔkepmx language
• Skills in strategic planning and consultation
• Strong relationship-building capabilities
Contribute to the growth of Indigenous language education at UBC while working closely with community partners.
