Position: Cultural Advocate for Aboriginal Students
Join School District No. 58 in Merritt as a Cultural Advocate for Aboriginal students. Support and enhance their educational journey, ensuring cultural relevance and pride.

In this role, you'll assist Aboriginal students one-on-one or in small groups to thrive in their educational and social endeavors. Collaborating with educators and the community, you will implement programs that address their unique needs and create an inclusive environment. Your support is crucial in identifying student backgrounds and tracking their educational progress.

Key Responsibilities:

• Involve in student activities supporting Aboriginal enhancement

• Coordinate with school leaders on Aboriginal student schedules

• Promote cultural awareness and education programs

• Monitor and report on student academic performance

• Facilitate access to community and cultural resources

Requirements:

• Grade 12 with 6 months post-secondary education

• Experience with Aboriginal students and families

• Familiarity with First Nations culture

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Ability to maintain records and documentation
