High School Math and Science Teacher

Become part of MERRITT SECONDARY SCHOOL as a full-time Math and Science Teacher for grades 9 to 12 starting September 1, 2026. Deliver engaging instruction while adapting to various student needs.

This 1.0 FTE temporary position is ideal for qualified candidates ready to teach Math 9, Science 10, and Chemistry 11 & 12. You will develop tailored materials, assess student progress, and adhere to the BC Curriculum while fostering a supportive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Math and Science subjects to grades 9-12

• Adapt teaching resources and assessments for diverse learners

• Utilize BC Curriculum effectively in lesson plans

• Foster positive relationships with students and staff

• Collaborate with the school team for student support

Requirements:

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate required

• Experience working with high school students

• Familiarity with BC Curriculum essential

• Teaching category five or higher needed

• Commitment to social-emotional learning support
