Position: Specialized Teacher for Resource Room Programs
Become a District Resource Room Teacher with School District #73 starting September 1, 2026, dedicated to students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. Your focus will be on inclusive and responsive educational practices.

In this position, you will be responsible for developing IEPs that cater to individual student needs. You'll provide training in life skills, adaptive behavior, and executive functioning strategies while monitoring student progress. Collaboration with families and community services is essential for promoting student success and integration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create individualized education plans aligned with student strengths

• Deliver functional academic instruction and adaptive skills training

• Utilize structured routines to enhance executive functioning

• Foster peer interaction and social-emotional learning

• Coordinate learning opportunities in the community

Requirements:

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate or equivalent

• Significant experience with diverse learning needs

• Ability to implement effective behavioral support plans

• Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning approaches

• Strong organizational and communication skills
