This position focuses on empowering Aboriginal students through tailored support and programming. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with educators to create impactful schedules and monitor academic progress.
Your role includes advocating for cultural heritage and providing a positive influence on students' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist Aboriginal students with educational activities
• Develop schedules in coordination with school staff
• Support programs for cultural and emotional development
• Track student attendance and academic achievement
• Serve as a cultural resource for schools and families
Requirements:
• Grade 12 plus relevant social service coursework
• One year experience working with Aboriginal youth
• In-depth cultural knowledge of First Nations
• Ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences
• Proficiency in maintaining records and documentation
Support Aboriginal students' journey to success as their dedicated Advocate in Merritt.
