Campus Minister - Temporary (1-Year Term)

St. Ann's Academy is celebrating over 140 years of Catholic education in BC and serves as the longest continually operating school in BC. Located in the beautiful city of Kamloops, the school supports over 400 students between Kindergarten and Grade 12. For the  school year, St. Ann's Academy invites applications for a full-time Campus Minister position commencing September 1, 2026.

The Campus Minister serves as a spiritual leader within the school community, working collaboratively with the Principal, Vice Principals, Pastors, staff, students, and parish partners to animate and sustain the school's Catholic identity. Rooted in the mission of the Catholic Independent Schools, the Campus Minister supports faith formation, fosters a culture of prayer and service, and promotes opportunities for spiritual growth, sacramental life, and Christian leadership.

Core

Responsibilities
  • Faith Formation & Spiritual Life:
    Organize and animate school-wide liturgies, prayer services, and seasonal celebrations; coordinate school Masses; and support the integration of Catholic teachings across school life.
  • Retreats & Student Faith Experiences:
    Design, organize, and oversee grade-level retreats; train and mentor student retreat leaders; and facilitate opportunities for deeper faith encounters.
  • Service & Social Justice:
    Coordinate Christian service programs and promote Catholic Social Teaching through service initiatives and charitable campaigns.
  • Student Leadership:
    Recruit, form, and mentor student faith leaders, facilitating regular leadership meetings and encouraging student voice in ministry.
  • Pastoral Care:
    Provide a visible, approachable presence, offering pastoral support to students in collaboration with school administration and counsellors.
  • Staff Development:
    Support staff faith formation, including prayer opportunities and professional development related to Catholic identity.
  • Collaboration & Administration:
    Serve as a liaison between the school and local parishes, manage the ministry budget, and ensure compliance with diocesan and safe environment protocols.

  • Must provide a Certificate of Catholic Baptism or RCIA Certification, a Certificate of Catholic Marriage (if applicable), and a Confidential Catholic Pastoral Reference Form.
