The Nicola Valley Institute of Technology seeks a Term Instructor to deliver two pivotal courses within its Indigenous Construction Standards Program. Ideal candidates will have substantial construction and housing experience, as well as an understanding of Indigenous perspectives. Responsibilities include implementing a hybrid-flex delivery model, enhancing student interaction, and collaborating with Indigenous communities and construction professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Educate using hybrid-facilitated courses both online and on campus
• Foster engagement through applied learning activities
• Coordinate with community representatives and industry leaders
• Guide students through coaching and evaluations
• Play a role in curricular improvement and quality assurance
Requirements:
• Four years of relevant construction or project management experience
• Familiarity with Indigenous housing and community development
• Skill in mentoring and engaging learners
• Excellent communication and relational skills
• Understanding of Indigenous history and cultural significance
