The Canadian Avalanche Association is looking for an Industry Training Program (ITP) Coordinator to join our team in Revelstoke, B.C.
This is a temporary contract position providing parental leave coverage, with an anticipated start date of early November 2026

The Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) serves Canada’s avalanche community. Among our services, the CAA delivers a comprehensive array of training for avalanche professionals through our Industry Training Program. This program prepares workers to be responsible for avalanche safety in industries such as ski areas, highway operations, railways, mines, and guiding.
Position SummaryThe Industry Training Program Coordinator assists with the delivery of all ITP courses in what many consider the best avalanche training program in the world. In collaboration with the ITP Manager, this position develops the course schedule, coordinates venues and instructors, ensures proper permits, licenses and insurance are in place for each course location. The coordinator works with a small team, reviewing student applications, assisting with registration, and providing general student support.
They review and update website content along with administering our online learning system.
- Collaborate with the ITP Manager to develop the annual ITP course calendar based on anticipated demand.
- Support the ITP Manager with instructor scheduling for ITP courses.
- Secure lodge-based course venues and coordinate classroom facilities and instructor accommodation.
- Support the delivery of private and international courses.
- Assist with course material pack-outs and general course logistics.
- Review student applications, including Level 2, Level 3, and Prior Learning Assessment applications.
- Manage Level 2 registration and support student registration and enrolment changes.
- Support Student Services with the administration and maintenance of online registration systems and related platforms.
- Respond to student inquiries and provide clear, timely communication and support throughout the course experience.
- Coordinate registration and logistics for international courses and retests.
- Coordinate student retests where appropriate.
- Ensure required permits, licenses, and insurance are in place for each course location.
- Review and approve instructor timesheets and invoices.
- Reconcile monthly financial reports with ITP expenses.
- Prepare annual program reports.
- Maintain and update ITP website content.
- Backfill ITP Manager functions during designated periods, such as holidays or emergencies, as delegated.
- Coordinate with ITP staff and provide support with program logistics as required.
- Collaborate with ITP staff and support the planning and delivery of annual instructor meetings.
- Assist with CAA special projects and other program initiatives as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent
- Superior customer service experience
- Familiarity with current CAA Industry Training Program courses
- Experience working in a team environment, with strong administrative and multitasking skills
- Financial management skills, including experience with budgeting, invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and financial records.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and administer
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Self-motivated while working independently with minimal supervision
