Quality Lead – Field / Inspection (Hourly, Mine Site)
Location: Highland Valley Copper Mine Site (HVC), near Logan Lake, BC
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 14 days on / 7 days off, 10-hour shifts
Reports To: Project Manager

Lower Nicola Site Services (LNSS) is a trusted provider of construction and site services to the mining and heavy civil sectors across British Columbia. LNSS has extensive experience working on active mine sites and alongside owner teams, delivering earthworks, underground utilities, concrete, and infrastructure projects that meet strict safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Position SummaryReporting to the Project Manager (and functionally supporting corporate quality requirements), the Quality Lead is responsible for implementing the project Quality Management Plan and ensuring construction activities meet contractual, regulatory, and client quality expectations. The role is primarily site-based and inspection-focused, with a strong emphasis on earthworks, underground utilities, concrete, and process-related quality control.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and maintain the project Quality Management Plan on site.
- Conduct field inspections and quality verification for: underground utilities and services, earthworks (excavation, backfill, compaction, grading), concrete (Mix Designs, field testing, batching)
- Coordinate and schedule required inspections and testing activities.
- Verify work conforms to IFC drawings, specifications, permits, and applicable codes and standards.
- Identify, document, track, and close non-conformances and deficiencies.
- Work with construction crews and subcontractors to resolve quality issues in a practical, field-focused manner.
- Perform root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive actions for recurring quality issues.
- Interface directly with client quality and inspection personnel, fostering open communication and trust.
- Review subcontractor quality documentation and confirm compliance with project requirements.
- Compile and maintain quality records, inspection reports, test results, and turnover documentation.
- Support audits, quality reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a strong quality culture aligned with LNSS safety and operational standards.
- Other duties as required by the project scope and contract requirements.
The successful candidate will typically possess:
- 5+ years of field-based quality experience on heavy civil, mining, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection/test plans.
- Familiarity with mine site work environments, procedures, and safety expectations (preferred).
- Technical diploma, engineering technology, CET/ASTTBC designation, or equivalent experience (engineering degree an asset but not required).
- Quality-related training or certifications (ISO 9001) considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with field crews, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Bluebeam; experience with electronic inspection or document control systems is an asset.
- Willingness to work a site-based schedule in a mining environment.
- Hourly position, with rates commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Overtime in accordance with applicable regulations and site requirements.
- Mine site premiums and allowances where applicable.

14 days on / 7 days off, 10-hour shifts. - Transportation:
Daily shuttle service from Merritt and Kamloops to the HVC Mine Site. - Accommodation:
Local candidates or commuters preferred; no camp available. LOA will be considered for the right candidate.
- Wages: $40.00 – $45.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
