This is an exciting full‑time opportunity for a new graduate looking to launch their career in transportation. You’ll join a collaborative and growing team of transportation professionals who will support your development as you build foundational skills in transportation planning, traffic engineering, and operational analysis. At EXP, you’ll gain hands‑on project experience, mentorship from senior team members, and exposure to a wide variety of transportation projects across Western Canada.
Whata Day at EXP Has in Store for You
- Assisting with transportation planning and traffic operations analyses, including:
- Traffic impact studies for land development projects
- Corridor and network planning
- Transportation master plan research and support
- Operational analysis, including exposure to various micro simulation tools
- Helping prepare technical reports, figures, and presentations under the guidance of senior engineers and technologists
- Developing basic drawings with support and direction of senior engineers and technologists
- Supporting project coordination tasks such as scheduling, data collection, documentation, and quality checks
- Participating in meetings and presentations with internal team members and occasionally with municipal partners (with support and mentorship)
- Contributing to a positive, collaborative team culture by bringing curiosity, professionalism, and a willingness to learn
- A Degree or Advanced Diploma in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning or a related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
- Interest in developing skills in transportation planning, traffic operations, and transportation design
- Familiarity with (or interest in learning) traffic and transportation software such as Synchro, VISSIM, VISUM, or EMME
- Basic knowledge on design software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or Civil 3D
- Strong communication skills, including technical writing and presenting information clearly
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- A collaborative attitude and strong interpersonal skills focused on client service and teamwork
- Valid driver’s license is required for occasional site visits
- Membership or interest in joining ITE Canada is considered an asset
The salary range for this role is between $46K - $58K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
