Join the City of Kamloops as a full-time Civic Operations GIS Technologist. Utilize your GIS expertise to support planning and analysis while working collaboratively with internal teams.
In this permanent role, you will develop and maintain GIS databases and produce accurate maps and reports that assist Civic Operations. With a sharp eye for detail and interpersonal skills, this position requires a two-year GIS diploma and at least two years of municipal GIS experience, particularly with ArcGIS.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain geographic information systems
• Produce detailed maps and spatial data analyses
• Provide technical support for GIS tools usage
• Ensure GIS data integrity and accuracy
• Support decision-making with effective spatial insights
Requirements:
• Secondary school or equivalent completion
• Two-year diploma in GIS required
• Minimum of two years municipal GIS experience
• Eligible for technologist or technician certification
• Police information check completion required
