The City of Kamloops is hiring a Civic Operations GIS Technologist to help enhance municipal services. This full-time role involves GIS data management, analysis, and stakeholder support.
In this permanent position, you will play a vital role in the GIS team, ensuring the development and maintenance of effective geographic systems for decision-making. Candidates should hold a two-year GIS diploma and have at least two years of experience in municipal environments, especially with ArcGIS.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain GIS projects and databases
• Generate and analyze spatial data and maps
• Provide technical assistance related to GIS tools
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems
• Contribute to informed planning and operational decisions
Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school or its equivalent
• Two-year diploma in GIS required
• Two years of experience in municipal GIS work
• Eligible for Applied Science Technologists certification
• Police information check must be completed
