The Opportunity
McElhanney is looking for an Intermediate or Senior Bridge Engineer for our Kamloops, BC office. The role focuses on structural design, inspection, evaluation, and construction support for bridge projects and offers the chance to advance a career in bridge engineering.
LocationPreference will be given to candidates based in Kamloops or those willing to relocate. Candidates located elsewhere in the BC Interior will also be considered.
What You’ll Do- Provide design support for structural projects, primarily bridges, and potentially retain walls, large diameter culverts, marine structures, and other transportation infrastructure.
- Communicate and work in an integrated team environment to meet project schedules, budgets, and quality control standards.
- Provide structural inspections and/or construction supervision for structural engineering projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in structural engineering.
- 5-15 years of bridge design and analysis experience.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PEng) in good standing in BC, or eligibility for registration.
- Demonstrated experience applying local and relevant design codes and practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong initiative, with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $150,000 per annum. McElhanney offers a comprehensive benefits package.
