Position: Engineering Technologist for Infrastructure Development
Location: merritt

Join the City of Merritt as an Engineering Technologist, responsible for overseeing municipal infrastructure and development projects. Focus on water and wastewater systems.

Your role will include inspecting municipal projects and managing the development process. You'll assess design submissions, conduct essential surveys, and enforce municipal installation standards. In addition, you'll be involved in data collection for the GIS system and report preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and coordinate municipal infrastructure projects

• Evaluate and review design drawing submissions

• Perform field surveys and inspections for compliance

• Maintain infrastructure reports and record drawings

• Work closely with various municipal departments
Requirements:

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent

• Minimum two years of relevant civil engineering experience

• Proficient in AutoCAD, GIS, and MS Office tools

• Strong understanding of civil construction codes

• Physical capability to inspect sites and have a valid BC driver’s license
