The City of Kamloops seeks a permanent, full-time Transportation Engineer to lead technical expertise in transportation planning and operations. This role involves oversight of traffic engineering, active transportation initiatives, and safety improvements. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, manage capital projects, and provide vital technical analysis for community decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct traffic operations and studies for project evaluation
• Review Traffic Impact Assessments and transit operations
• Implement active transportation and demand management programs
• Manage transportation-related capital projects effectively
• Support strategic plans and community engagement initiatives
Requirements:
• University degree in Civil Engineering
• 3+ years in Transportation Design/Traffic Engineering
• 2+ years in supervisory roles
• Strong communication and public relations skills
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
