Overview  As a permanent, full-time Water Treatment Plant Operator, you’ll be at the forefront of a sophisticated water treatment system — managing, maintaining, and optimizing operations to safeguard public health.
Under the guidance of the Crew Leader – Water Treatment Facility you’ll make operational decisions, address challenges, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The role requires strong judgment, technical expertise, and the ability to lead and train others in a dynamic, high-technology environment.
Qualifications   Level III Water Treatment Certificate through the Environmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP) of BC/Yukon and a member in good standing.
Post-secondary certificate or diploma in a Water Technology program.
Minimum three (3) years' relevant experience in water treatment. Must be currently working at a Class III or IV water treatment facility.
Proficient in basic Word and basic Excel, as demonstrated through testing. (70% pass rate required)
Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.
Benefits and Status  This is a CUPE local 900 position. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position.
Hours and Compensation   Hourly Rate : $43.049 (2025)
Hours per Week : 40
Hours & Days of Work :
Non-normal shifts, rotational shifts required.
