Kickstart your career in municipal engineering by joining a collaborative civil design team in Kamloops. In this junior drafting support role, you’ll contribute to the development of infrastructure that supports growing communities while building your technical skills alongside experienced engineers and designers.
Your Impact
Support the preparation of civil engineering drawings for municipal infrastructure projects including roads, drainage, and utilities.
Assist in developing AutoCAD and Civil 3D models and drawings based on engineering direction.
Contribute to the accuracy and quality of design deliverables through careful drafting and revisions.
Update drawing packages and maintain organized project documentation throughout the design process.
Collaborate with engineers and designers to incorporate feedback and refine designs.
Support quantity take-offs and basic design tasks to aid project delivery.
Learn and apply municipal standards, regulations, and best practices in design work.
Contribute to a team culture focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
The Skills That Set You Apart
Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in a drafting or design support role, preferably in municipal infrastructure.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Familiarity with basic civil design concepts such as grading, servicing, and roadworks.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high‑quality drawings.
Eagerness to learn, grow, and develop technical skills in a supportive team environment.
Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Exposure to BC municipal standards or consulting environments is considered an asset.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $29.50 - $39.10 per hour
MB & ON: $26.90 – $37.10 per hour
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $26.60 - $35.40 per hour
