Support critical municipal infrastructure as a GIS Technician at the City of Merritt. Your skills in mapping and data management will enhance operational efficiency.
The City of Merritt invites applications for a GIS Technician to help maintain its Geographic Information System for various municipal services. In this role, you will work closely with infrastructure teams to manage assets and provide mapping solutions. Your background in municipal GIS and expertise with ESRI ArcGIS tools will be essential for maintaining spatial accuracy and accessibility.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain the GIS system and manage datasets
• Provide mapping support for municipal infrastructure
• Collaborate with engineers on spatial analysis projects
• Communicate GIS-based information to staff
• Assist in long-term planning through accurate data management
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in GIS or related field
• 2–5 years of relevant GIS experience
• Strong working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS
• Familiarity with GPS data collection tools
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence
