Engineering Trainee, Geotechnical at HVC

Location: Logan Lake

Launch your engineering journey with Highland Valley Copper as a Geotechnical Engineer in Training. This 18-month temporary full-time role in Logan Lake, BC, focuses on mine planning support and safety leadership.

In this role, you'll assist with geotechnical analyses, coordinate field programs, and conduct stability assessments of slopes and soil stockpiles. You should possess strong problem-solving capabilities and familiarity with geotechnical software applications. This position requires collaboration with both internal teams and external consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Champion safety and environmental best practices

• Build relationships with operational personnel

• Manage geotechnical field programs and reviews

• Conduct inspections and report findings

• Analyze stability of mining structures

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geological or Civil Engineering

• Eligible for registration as Engineer-in-Training with EGBC

• Experience in mining is preferred, but not required

• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software

• Valid driver’s license required
