Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Teck

Leverage your geotechnical expertise with Teck in Logan Lake, BC as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer. This on-site role focuses on geotechnical stability and safety leadership within a major mining operation.

As a Senior Engineer, Mine Geotechnical at Highland Valley Copper, you'll support safe mining operations and the expansion of the Mine Life Extension project. You'll work closely with Design Engineers, Operations personnel, and community stakeholders to monitor rock stability in an active open-pit context.

This role offers you a chance to utilize your technical skills while contributing to innovative mining solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead safety initiatives and perform Visible Felt Leadership field visits

• Develop relationships with management and technical teams

• Coordinate and support geotechnical field programs

• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies

• Review geotechnical designs from external consultants

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant engineering

• P.Eng. registration with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia

• Minimum of five years of geotechnical engineering experience

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Experience with geotechnical projects in mining
