This position involves close collaboration with Métis Chartered Communities to champion their health priorities within the Regional Health Authority. The advocate will support educational initiatives for healthcare staff regarding Métis sensitivities and practices while working on addressing systemic issues. The role emphasizes strategic engagement to ensure the health system reflects Métis wellness goals and anti-discrimination measures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Foster collaborative relationships with health authorities
• Advocate for Métis representation in health initiatives
• Facilitate community-driven health promotion strategies
• Communicate health authority services effectively
• Participate in meetings to discuss health needs
Requirements:
• Diploma in health or related field
• Experience in healthcare with Indigenous communities
• Knowledge of federal and provincial health services
• Capacity for critical thinking and problem-solving
• Willingness to travel for community engagement
