Counsellor for Mental Health Services

Location: Merritt

Join a dedicated team as a Counsellor focusing on mental health and addiction support. This role provides assessment, counselling, and vital outreach services primarily catered to men and their families facing these challenges.

You will work under the Director of Human Services and engage in crisis management, delivering group and individual counselling while promoting harm reduction strategies. This position requires collaboration with external agencies and community resources to create effective treatment plans and proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive counselling on addiction and mental health

• Prepare funding proposals for mental health initiatives

• Document client interactions using Electronic Management Record systems

• Liaise with community treatment programs and agencies

• Conduct outreach counselling services for vulnerable clients

Requirements:

• Registered with the counselling authority

• Certification in addiction counselling

• Knowledge of community resources and intervention methods

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Experience with Indigenous communities preferred
