Lifemark Physiotherapy Kamloops has been delivering multidisciplinary physiotherapy assessment and treatment services to the Kamloops community for over 15 years. Our staff consists of physiotherapists, kinesiologists and occupational therapists who are experts in treating sport, orthopedic, motor vehicle (ICBC) and work-related (Work Safe BC) injuries. We are seeking a Kinesiologist (KIN) who is passionate about assisting those impacted by injury through their individual recovery process.
You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, individualized care that supports recovery and successful return to work and daily function. In addition to working with the Work Safe BC rehab program, you will have the opportunity to participate in other work streams such as FCEs, Community services and Veterans Rehabilitation services.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to perform ergonomic assessments, POET's, work hardening and facilitating FCE's. This position will provide the opportunity to work collaboratively with a team of clinicians, as well as provide exposure to complex occupational rehab cases. Our KINs provide both individual and program-based treatments and assessments for individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents and workplace injuries.
They also play a pivotal role in supporting veterans, Canadian Armed Forces members, first responders, and individuals facing physical, cognitive and mental wellness goals. In this role, you will:
- Perform biomechanical, fitness, and functional assessments under the mentorship and direction of a physiotherapist.
- Design, implement and supervise graded exercise, work conditioning and/or work hardening programs.
- Perform biweekly reassessment of client progress through functional testing.
- Record functional and subjective findings in client charts regularly.
- Responsible for the marketing and growth of the kinesiology department through analysis of the stakeholders to create a strategic marketing plan with the assistance of the clinic director.
- Work cooperatively with clients to set and achieve functional goals.
- Conduct group orientation and education lectures, and regular one-on-one education to clients.
- Complete functional components of reports for initial, progress and discharge.
- Ensure return-to-work plans with the client and employer have been made and documented in the client's chart.
