Support critical data center infrastructure as a Data Center Technician in Kamloops, Canada. This on-site role offers flexible scheduling on a contract basis.
You will bring your 2+ years of data center experience to execute tasks such as hardware installations, structured cabling, and server management. Communication skills are essential, as is the ability to document your tasks meticulously.
Experience with major colocation providers is a plus in this challenging role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform hardware migrations and installations as needed
• Execute structured cabling installations with precision
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and clear labeling
• Troubleshoot any hardware connectivity issues
• Document all work with notes and visual evidence
Requirements:
• At least 2 years working in data centers or IT infrastructure
• Strong cabling experience (copper, fiber)
• Knowledge of server hardware (Dell, HP)
• Capability to lift over 50 lbs and work in raised floor areas
• Preferred data center certifications (CDCP, CDCS)
