Are you passionate about solving technical problems and providing excellent customer service? If so, the City of Kamloops has an exciting chance to join our IT team as an IT Helpdesk Technician.
Responsibilities- troubleshoot and resolve various IT issues for internal and external clients
- provide support for hardware, software, network, and security systems
Our IT Helpdesk Technicians work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications for IT Helpdesk Technician II ($46.931/hour)- Completion of a post‑secondary diploma from a recognized institute of technology in information systems
- Completion of Microsoft Fundamentals level certification in Microsoft 365 (expired certifications accepted)
- Completion of Microsoft Associate level certification in Microsoft 365 Security or Identity Access Administration or equivalent (expired certifications accepted)
- Completion of Microsoft Associate level certification in Microsoft 365 Messaging Administration or equivalent (expired certifications accepted)
- Valid BC Driver’s licence – Class 5
- Minimum three years working experience managing Windows and iOS endpoints, IP LAN and Wi‑Fi communication, DNS and DHCP, Active Directory, audio/video equipment, printing and POS equipment, with two years managing Office 365, Exchange Online, Intune, Group Policy, and Windows Server in an end‑user support role
- Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP enhanced security clearance
- Will be terminated if unable to maintain an RCMP enhanced security clearance

For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust—including those working directly with vulnerable persons—no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position. This is a CUPE local 900 position. To be considered for an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance, applicants must be a Canadian citizen or have Permanent Resident status in Canada;
those with Permanent Resident status must have lived in Canada for at least three of the last five years.
Monday – Friday, 7 hours between 7:00AM and 5:00PM; 35 hours per week.
