Position: Custodian Role at Merritt Campus

Become a vital part of NVIT as a full-time Custodian, ensuring cleanliness and safety at the Merritt Campus. This role combines flexibility with day and evening shifts, including weekends.

As a Custodian, you'll support the Manager of Facilities to maintain our campus for optimal health and safety. Daily tasks include cleaning offices, classrooms, and restrooms while ensuring outdoor areas are well-kept. Candidates must be prepared for moderate to heavy physical work, with training provided on janitorial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute daily cleaning of facilities and restrooms

• Maintain cleanliness of classroom and office areas

• Perform outdoor tasks, including sidewalk clearance

• Set up gym space for events as needed

• Restore and maintain concrete flooring

Requirements:

• Two or more years of related custodial experience

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move equipment

• Professional interaction with students and staff

• Must be bondable and knowledgeable about Indigenous culture
