Position: Grounds Equipment Operator 2 Role
Join School District No. 73 as a Grounds Equipment Operator
2. This role focuses on maintaining grounds while providing leadership and guidance to other Grounds employees in Kamloops-Thompson.

In this full-time, permanent position, you operate various grounds equipment and assist in communications between staff and management. Your tasks will include maintaining playgrounds, supervising lower classification employees, and performing heavy lifting. You will also participate in safety training and execute snow removal responsibilities when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate mobile support equipment for grounds maintenance

• Direct and assign tasks to lower classification staff

• Carry out physical lifting and labour-intensive work

• Perform necessary snow removal duties

• Follow safety guidelines and report workplace hazards

Requirements:

• Hold a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent

• Have two years of experience in landscape and equipment operation

• Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License with heavy trailer endorsement

• Capable of meeting physical job demands

• Willing to pursue Playground Safety certification
