Compressed Work Week (9-hour dayshifts, every other Friday off)

Reporting to the Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor, the Instrumentation Technician will support the mill’s continuous improvement efforts through construction projects and general preventative maintenance.

• Troubleshoot and repair process control instrumentation
• Regular predictive/preventative maintenance
• Servicing of control valves, emission monitors and kraft pulp analyzers
• Use computer diagnostics and testing to monitor, measure and troubleshoot processes
• Clean and perform routine maintenance work

• Self-directed and works with minimal supervision
• Ability to manage time and multi-task to accomplish a variety of assignments with conflicting priorities and deadlines
• Confident written and oral communicator
• Change agent with the ability to collaborate well with others
• Strong problem solving & analytical skills
• Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands
• Detail oriented
• Committed to best practices in health, safety and environmental management
• Work well in team and possess a friendly and positive demeanor

• BC Journeyperson and/or Interprovincial Red Seal Industrial Instrumentation & Control Technician Certification
• Experience working in a safety sensitive industrial work environment
• Strong computer system aptitude and experience working with various types of software including Microsoft Office Suite and a computerized maintenance system (i.e. SAP)
• Possessing a dual ticket qualification in Electrical and/or HVAC in addition would be an asset
