Compressed Work Week (9-hour dayshifts, every other Friday off)
Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent, the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of mechanical trades in a safety focused Kraft Pulp Mill. The role will be of interest to effective leaders who are dynamic, resourceful, self-starters and demonstrate a commitment to safety.
Your Responsibilities- Lead, supervise and develop maintenance employees;
- Track and measure performance utilizing appropriate methods/tools;
- Contribute to short and long term planning strategies;
- Make a difference and share in the Mill’s overall success.
Skills And Abilities
- Safety focused;
- Self-directed and works with minimal supervision;
- Ability to work with all groups to define schedules and prioritize work;
- Confident communicator at all levels of organization including listening, writing and presenting;
- Change agent with the ability to collaborate well with others;
- Strong problem solving & analytical skills, excellent judgment and confidentiality;
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands;
- Detail oriented;
- Exceptional leadership skills with proven ability to coach varying levels of the operation;
- Work well in team and possess a friendly and positive demeanor and professional image.
- Possess an Interprovincial Red Seal Certification in Millwrighting, Pipe fitting, Heavy Duty Mechanics or Welding;
- Experience supervising trades in a safety focused, industrial work environment;
- Proficient with computers including experience in working with a computerized maintenance management system (SAP);
- Previous experience planning and scheduling within a multi trade work environment is considered an asset;
- A dual ticket is considered an asset.
