Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operation sis Canada’s largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation.

Located approximately 17 kilometres west of Logan Lake and about 50 kilometres southwest of Kamloops in British Columbia, the surrounding areas of HVC offer abundant outdoor experiences.

Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Supervisor, Welders are responsible for repairing and maintaining site structures and equipment in a shop or field environment.

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
• Maintain and repair site structures and equipment in all areas of the Mill.
• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
• Operate welding equipment, flame cutting, hoisting, and lifting equipment.
• Troubleshoot production problems and take preventative or corrective action.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.

• BC PWP 7 is an asset
• High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED), or equivalent
• Minimum four years’ welding experience in an industrial environment.
• A valid driver’s license
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  This is a drive-in/drive-out role. Most employees commute to site by car, and carpooling is common among team members.
