Position Overview

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with Hospitalists, General Practitioners, and Nurse Practitioners to manage the care of a designated group of inpatients.

The NP will be responsible for directing clinical care, engaging in both short‑term and long‑term planning in collaboration with the inter‑professional team, and coordinating transitions of care. The role includes autonomous clinical decision‑making with appropriate consultation and referrals to physicians and other team members.

We are currently recruiting for 1.8 FTE positions.

Key Focus

Managing older adult patients admitted to the Hospitalist program, particularly those with sub‑acute conditions and complex chronic care needs. Experience in managing behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia is considered an asset.

Hours and Scheduling

Hours:

08:00 – 20:00. Rotating schedule, including weekends, statutory holidays, and potential on‑call shifts.

Salary Range

Salary range: $76.61/hour – $84.27/hour. Interior Health establishes salaries within this range based on qualifications and experience.

Education and Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) or equivalent.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Previous experience in a clinical or healthcare setting, with the ability to diagnose, treat, and manage patient care.
Additional Information

Exciting news: no OSCE exam is required to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in British Columbia.
