About the Job

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population.

Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures.

Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols.

This is a Relief Part Time (0.49) opportunity until July 06, 2027, or the return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:30 to 19:30, 19:30 to 07:30 hours.

Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area and is one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals.

6 North is a dedicated medical inpatient unit specializing in comprehensive care for adult patients with a diverse range of medical conditions. With a capacity of 38 beds, 6N serves as a vital resource within the hospital for patients having medical needs. 6N is also offering specialized services as the designated eating disorder unit.

At 6 North, we pride ourselves on our multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Our team is composed of passionate professionals including Hospitalists (MD, NP) Patient Care Coordinators (PCCs), Transition Liaisons (TLs), Social Workers (SWs), Registered Nurses, Practical Nurses, Physical Therapists (PTs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), Dieticians, and Support Services workers (HCA, Porters, Activation Team). This collaborative environment ensures that each patient receives holistic, personalized care tailored to their unique needs.

Qualfications
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses
  • Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Current CPR certification required
