The Registered Nurse will deliver the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care in a primary care setting, operate in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, ensure the delivery of client‑centered care by assisting individual clients and their families to respond to changing health care needs, and demonstrate a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.
Reporting to the Manager of Renal Services in Kelowna, the Registered Nurse Hemodialysis provides nursing care and support to patients with chronic kidney disease or kidney related problems undergoing hemodialysis based at our satellite outpatient clinic in Vernon.
This is a Relief Part Time (0.44) opportunity until May
26,2027, or the return of the incumbent.
Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 06:30 to 18:00 and 10:45 to 22:15 hours.
About this LocationRoyal Inland Hospital (RIH) is in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area and is one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals. Located in Kamloops, RIH offers high‑level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services. Specialty services include ambulatory psychiatry, elderly mental health, clinical nutrition, and lung health.
QualificationsGraduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Completion of a recognized nephrology nursing certificate program plus two years recent related general duty nursing experience; OR completion of a recognized nephrology nursing certificate program plus one year recent related critical care nursing experience; OR one year recent related hemodialysis nursing experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current BCLS certification required. Valid BC Driver’s License required.
