Nurse Practitioner

Foundry Kamloops is hiring a Permanent Full Time Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive primary care services to youth aged 12–24 at Foundry Kamloops, in a new, welcoming, and collaborative care environment. Working alongside an interdisciplinary team of physicians and allied health professionals, the Nurse Practitioner will play a key role in improving timely access to high-quality, youth-centered care.

Foundry Kamloops brings together multiple service providers to reduce barriers for youth and families seeking support. The goal of Foundry is to enhance access to integrated services, including primary care, mental health support, substance use services, social services, and peer and family navigation. In one location, young people can connect with a counsellor, a primary care provider, and essential supports such as housing, employment, and income assistance, while accessing sexual health services in a safe, inclusive, and youth-friendly space.

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients, including the initiation of treatment, therapeutic interventions, and the prescribing of medications in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. The NP practices both autonomously and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, providing clinical leadership and guidance to other health professionals and facilitating referrals to specialists as needed.

This role includes a focus on supporting diverse and often marginalized populations, including Indigenous youth. Cultural humility and a commitment to culturally safe care are essential. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in cultural safety training. In addition to direct patient care, the Nurse Practitioner collaborates with patients, families, and team members to identify health trends and implement evidence-informed, population-based strategies to improve outcomes.

The role also contributes to quality improvement, peer review, and the ongoing evaluation of services at the individual, community, and population levels.

Salary Range:
Salary range for the position is $76.61/hour - $84.27/hour. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant.
