The Registered Nurse:
- Provides nursing care to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
- Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
- Maintains and advances own clinical competence
- Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned
This is a Relief Full Time (1.00) opportunity until April 01, 2027, or the return of the incumbent.
Shift ScheduleShifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:30 to 19:45, 19:30 to 07:45 hours.
About this LocationRoyal Inland Hospital (RIH) is in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area and is one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals.
Our Intensive Care and Step-Down Unit is a beautiful, state-of-the-art department consisting of 17 private patient rooms, five of which are negative-pressure isolation rooms. The fully equipped ICU provides an aesthetically appealing environment for patients and features a new family entrance, a waiting area and quiet room for family privacy, improved functional design, enhanced infection control and support space for the staff.
RNs work 12-hour shifts with HCA support.

QualficationsGraduation as a Registered Nurse from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Advanced preparation in a critical care clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 3 years.
