Elevate community health as the Nurse in Charge with the First Nations Health Authority in Lillooet. This role focuses on public health, primary care, and cultural competency in nursing.
The Nurse in Charge will lead comprehensive nursing services within a First Nations community, emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention, and community wellness. You'll be involved in critical health areas, supporting individuals and families while collaborating with community health teams. A strong grasp of First Nations cultural principles is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership in core nursing functions and services
• Promote health and prevent disease in the community
• Support community leaders with knowledge and skills
• Guide nursing staff in primary care and public health
• Focus on curative and supportive care practices
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience
• Minimum of two years as a Community Health Nurse
• Current registration with BCCNM
• Knowledge of First Nations cultural protocols
• Experience in trans-cultural nursing practices
