3). This full-time role focuses on wildfire suppression and readiness in challenging environments while adhering to safety protocols.
In this position under the Emergency Preparedness Program, you'll be actively involved in responding to wildfires, participating in training, and collaborating with other crews from May to September. Ideal candidates will demonstrate physical fitness and a commitment to safety in wildland firefighting and mitigation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure equipment fire line readiness at all times
• Participate in fuel management and project work
• Maintain up-to-date training certifications
• Document administrative records accurately
• Respond to wildfires in accordance with BCWS standards
Requirements:
• Physically capable of labor in rough terrains
• Must hold a valid driver’s license
• Work Safe Basic First Aid Certificate required
• Strong teamwork skills with BCWS personnel
• Willingness to work overtime and be on standby
Contribute to your community’s safety and environmental health through dedicated firefighting efforts.
