Dawson Civil is looking for an experienced Quality Control Supervisor who will ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications
In this role you will be a valued member of working in a temporary, full-time position of Quality Control Supervisor
, reporting to the Manager of Quality
. This position is a critical part of the Dawson Civil Quality Control Team and plays an integral part in our Quality Management System (QMS). The ideal candidate will effectively work with customers, both internal and external, to provide a valued service as an industry expert in quality services. Your base location will be Kamloops, BC and will require travel throughout our great province.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of this roleSupervise, schedule, and support field quality control technicians and inspectorsLead and mentor QC staff in field testing procedures, data tracking, and complianceAssist with preparation and review of quality control documentation and reportsEnsure materials testing and field inspection meets project specifications and industry standardsDevelop and implement project-specific QC plans and proceduresWork closely with project managers, superintendents, and client representatives to address quality-related concernsOversee field testing and inspection for aggregate production, asphalt paving, concrete, and subgrade constructionMaintain strong working knowledge of specifications for civil construction materials and methods (e.g., asphalt, concrete, granular base)Well-versed in Proctor compaction testing, nuclear density testing, and a wide range of standard materials testing proceduresWHAT YOU BRING
3–5 years of experience in civil construction, quality control, or related fieldValid Class 5 Driver’s LicenseStrong knowledge of MoTI, MMCD, and other civil construction standardsDemonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilitiesAbility to interpret drawings, specifications, and testing requirementsExcellent organizational, communication, and analytical skillsProficiency in report writing and use of quality control tracking toolsWillingness to travel and work extended hours when requiredSafety-oriented and committed to promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvementBENEFITS
