Dawson Construction is looking for Quality Control Technician to support our Quality Control team in ensuring materials and construction activities meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Construction
, working in a seasonal, full-time position of Quality Control Technician
, reporting to the Manager, Quality Control. You will play a hands-on role supporting quality control operations in both the field and lab, contributing directly to the successful delivery of highway and civil construction projects. Your base location will be Kamloops, BC and will require travel throughout our great province.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • Support field testing activities on active highway and construction sites, ensuring materials meet project requirements
  • Assist with soil, asphalt, and aggregate sampling and testing in both field and lab environments
  • Safely handle, transport, and set up testing equipment and material samples
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and assist with equipment upkeep
  • Accurately record test results and support documentation of field and lab activities
  • Work closely with supervisors, technicians, and crews to keep projects moving efficiently
  • Follow all company safety procedures and site requirements at all times
  • Work flexible hours, including overtime, to support project schedules and deadlines
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Experience in construction, labouring, or a similar hands-on role (highway or civil experience is an asset)
  • Willingness to learn materials testing and quality control processes on the job
  • Strong work ethic and ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to doing quality work
  • Willingness to travel and work out of town for extended periods
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
