Join the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc team as an archaeologist in a full-time, one-year term.
Your role will involve essential field operations, data management, and cultural resource studies.
Bringing your expertise, you will conduct pedestrian surveys, shovel testing, and collaborate on significant projects within the territory. This dynamic position includes fieldwork thoroughness, integration into a supportive team, and opportunities for advancement in cultural resource management. Engage with unique archaeological elements while documenting and protecting cultural heritage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform archaeological field surveys and testing
• Identify features and assist in data collection
• Contribute to external cultural resource projects
• Ensure compliance with TteS policies
• Prepare field notes and manage equipment
Requirements:
• At least 2-3 years in field archaeology
• First Aid Level 1 required or to be obtained
• Clean BC Class 5 driver’s license necessary
• Reliable transportation and drug test compliance
• Familiarity with Secwepemc culture preferred
