Explore North Thompson Valley with Simpcw Resources Group as an Archaeological Field Technician. Engage in seasonal project-term work focused on archaeological assessments and cultural resource protection.
As a Field Technician, you will carry out fieldwork for significant infrastructure projects while supporting Indigenous cultural heritage.
Your role will involve data collection, artifact screening, and systematic testing under the guidance of registered archaeologists. Candidates should be physically capable and committed to high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct shovel testing and assist in site evaluations
• Screen soils for archaeological indicators
• Collect and manage field data accurately
• Participate in safety initiatives and teamwork activities
• Maintain tools and equipment for field operations
Requirements:
• Interest in outdoor archaeological work
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid Driver's Licence preferred
• Ability to perform physical labor outdoors
• Enrollment in a relevant academic program is a plus
